Alan Goddard (Chair) is passionate about advancing the sustainability, growth, and impact of community-serving organizations. He is currently the Executive Director of Generosity and Impact at Abundance Canada. Alan’s past career highlights include award-winning health and crown corporation positions with the Manitoba government, forming the Novaturi Group Inc. governance and strategy consultancy and, most recently, supporting the expansion of Manitoba’s community foundation network as the Vice President of Capacity Building and Programs at The Winnipeg Foundation. Alan’s past volunteer experiences have included board terms with Big Sisters, Big Brothers of Winnipeg and Willow Place Shelter.
Angela Heck is the Executive Director of the Whistler Film Festival Society and serves as Executive Producer of the annual Winnipeg International Jazz Festival. She has previously held roles at the National Screen Institute, Winnipeg Art Gallery (Qaumajuq), Tactica Interactive, CBC Manitoba, University of Manitoba and the National Film Board of Canada and has served numerous boards including Women in Film, DOC-BC and the University of Manitoba. She is also a documentary producer with productions made in the mountains of Tibet and British Columbia and on the sea in Antarctica.
Brendan McKeen is the Executive Director of Manitoba Underground Opera and the Individual Giving Manager at Royal MTC. He has two music degrees including a Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting from Northwestern University and also serves as the Chair of Manitobans for the Arts.
Alfred Lea is the founder of Native Canadian Chip Corporation and a First Nation from Pine Dock Manitoba. He launched Tomahawk Chips Company in 2015 with distribution in Canada and the USA with plans underway for future expansion to international markets.
Shana Menkis (Winnipeg) is the Executive Director of Quality and Citizen Experience with Manitoba Health, Seniors, and Long-Term Care. She has previously served in executive roles within the departments of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care, Families, and Finance of the Manitoba Government. In the non-profit sector, she was the Strategic Development Director at the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg and later Director of Operations at Jewish Child and Family Service. Beyond her professional roles, Ms. Menkis contributes to the community through her involvement in Reaching Home Winnipeg Community Advisory Board, the Scholarship Interview Panel for McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University, and the Bell Let’s Talk Community Advisory Committee. She has a Master of Business Administration from University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from University of Guelph, Ontario.
David Martin has been employed with MCCC as Stage Manager at the Centennial Concert Hall for the past 15 years. Mr. Martin has worked in the entertainment industry for 43 years and held positions with Rainbow Stage and Westsun Show Systems International. Mr. Martin is a member of the Internal Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees Local #63 Union.
Brian Pincott is currently the Chair of Westminster Housing Society. Prior to moving to Winnipeg, he served as a Calgary City Councillor for 10 years. Prior to being elected, Brian worked in theatres across the country primarily as a lighting designer, as well as Production Manager for Alberta Theatre Projects and Technical Director for Neptune Theatre.
Robert Vineberg’s career in the Canadian Federal Public Service spanned over 35 years, of which 28 were with the immigration program, serving abroad, in policy positions at national headquarters and, most recently, as Director General of Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Prairies and Northern Territories Region, based in Winnipeg. He retired from the public service in 2008. Mr. Vineberg has written and published several peer reviewed articles and book chapters on immigration history and on military history. He is Past-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax. He is also Chair of the Board of Governors of Immigration Research West. He is a former-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Immigrant Centre Manitoba and a former Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Manitoba Opera.
Heba Abd El Hamid is the CEO and co-owner of a line of Middle Eastern food companies (Albasha, Tarboosh and Arabesque). Abd El Hamid is pursuing her PhD at the University of Manitoba in Peace and Conflict Studies. She has had the privilege of working on numerous boards and community outreach programs.”
